Many Tongues of Cork & Cork City Libraries presented ‘An Earth Song’ at Winter Warmer Festival ’21. ‘An Earth Song’ is a multilingual poetry collaboration facilitated by Tina Pisco – the writer -in -residence (2021) at Cork City Libraries.
Poems were presented simultaneously in sign language (ISL), by Cork sign-language interpreter Ray Greene.
It was a hybrid event streamed from Nano Nagle Place. The six (of seven) poets shared their poetry and what followed is a discussion about the quest for words in languages which may not exist. The poets also shared their experience of writing in their native tongues. The audience wanted to know what’s next for this collective, for ‘An Earth Song’.
