Living Heritage

A Documentary Exploring Culture & Nature

It’s easy to think of Cork City as a fairly homogenous group but its history is much more diverse and international than we may think.

Our audio documentary “Living Heritage’ explores the experiences of residents in Cork from varied cultural background and how their own traditions have fused with the locality.

The documentary was released on the open Day of Heritage Week 2024. We hosted a listening cafe for the release of our audio documentary at the wonderful Test Site on Kryl’s Quay, Cork. Deputy Lord Mayor Cllr. Honore Kamegni was in attendance.

‘Living Heritage’ is not only an invitation to connect with nature but also to understand different cultural practices of people living in Ireland.

‘Living Heritage’ is produced and published by Good Day Cork. The documentary has been created with support from Local Community Heritage and Biodiversity Grant Scheme from Cork City Council.

Hosted by writer, Cethan Leahy. Edited by Daniel Clancy. Music by Justin Grounds.

Read review by Catriona Reid, climate change researcher & activist.
