Throwing Shapes
by Diana Šinauska
I guess we must still find ways to move forward
Even while trying to exit the main stage.
To venture off the beaten track
And find another path
And to still seek joy
Despite the horrors of the world.
And to be still and silent, too
Whenever a moment allows it
And to also slowly
Step by step
Move away from the noise
And return back to the earth;
Back to learning from one another
And nurturing that which lives alongside us.
We have strayed too far in the wrong direction
But we get to turn around
And go back
To simpler beginnings –
Somewhere
Someone still waits for us
About Diana Šinauska
Diana studied Arts and Humanities in UCC – she is fascinated by artistic forms of expression. This course offered an opportunity to travel abroad which started a journey of much deeper insights and a lived experience of other cultures. After some time out, she graduated in 2020. After that, she spent a few years wondering what her path truly was. However, eventually she began to collect her written work and drawings, leaving corporate goals behind in order to find more spaces of stillness, gratitude and to engage meaningfully within the local community.
Diana’s work will feature in the upcoming ‘One Good Day’ journal by Good Day Cork. Connect with Diana on Insta
