New radio documentary from Cork explores ethnic grocery shops and identity

Daniel Heaphy
Daniel Heaphy is a writer, podcast host, actor & filmmaker based in Cork City. His debut novel “Breanne 1975” was released in August 2024. He is the host of the podcast ‘Creatively Me’ where he has interviewed everyone from Oscar-winners, Grammy nominees and Irish stars. Daniel is a graduate of a BA in Digital Media (MTU) and an MA in Film & Screen Media (UCC). His short film “One Night in Cork” (2021) was selected for film festivals in Ireland and the UK. Daniel directed the film, and also served as the lead actor, writer, editor and assistant director of photography.

Daniel Clancy
Daniel Clancy is a Limerick-based freelance audio-visual media producer working primarily in the community and arts sectors. A lifelong passion for radio, music and film has been channelled into creating radio series, audio features, documentaries, sound art and documentary films. Daniel has worked with Good Day Cork on ‘It’s Ok to not Be Ok’, ‘Potential’, Chats with Elena Canty’ &’Living Heritage’ — all radio documentaries from our catologue.

Mugdha C. Datay
Mugdha Chemburkar Datay, a multilingual marketer and consultant based in São Paulo, leading Karmayaab Consultoria. A venture dedicated to connecting India and Brazil through trade, marketing, and culture. On ‘Heritage Bazaar’, Mugdha brings her creative experience to support Good Day Cork as co-producer of this radio documentary!

Joanna Dukkipati
Joanna Dukkipati is the founder of Good Day Cork and in this role has produced all of the radio documentaries in our catalogue. Jo is recipient of Lord Mayor of Cork’s Civic Award 2025 “in recognition of her outstanding commitment to supporting and empowering migrant communities through encouraging cultural expression – a true embodiment of community leadership and civic engagement.”
